Could Love Defy the Toughest Minds?

Continuing the thorough analysis of the deep-angled lens of Disney movies, there is one phrase that has drawn the attention of the public as becoming the top focus of the public opinion. “Family Comes First” is what centred the American movie Coco with its one of the most controversial themes: the struggle between achieving one’s dreams & confronting the strict rules of family. The movie represents Miguel filled with passion, if not called “obsession” with music in the face of the harsh rules of his family to ban it due to the painful history they share with the great-great grandfather “Hector”. Family Tradition has been always the holy pattern that people follow through generations. This hasn’t only appeared on the American stream line, but in mostly all cultures. Amitabh Bachchan was the example for strict rules & hatred of change in the Indian movie Mohabbatein. The music which was brought by Shah Rukh Khan got the better of him & represented the destruct of his own world fixated with agonising rules & lifeless tradition. His painful experience with music has built the ice wall between his heart & mind. I mean, who is courageous enough to show what the heart really contains & admits the pain inside? On another scale, Mulan stands as the curse of the traditional Chinese expectations which set that daughters must bring honor by marrying well. And who could forget The Little Mermaid who has also suffered from constantly being told not to ever go up on the surface & have any contact with human beings. Tracing each of these cultures, one could find that each pattern of them shares a painful story on the backstage, mostly a loss of some beloved one is what led them to draw these killing lines for fitting in their societies. How could one prove they’re wrong and at the same time own his family’s respect? The answer relies in LOVE. Throughout my life, I could find no more powerful weapon than love when it leaks into the harshest & even toughest minds. Once love interferes & unlock hearts, it definitely releases the beauty hidden inside for some reason. After all, Geode “The famous rock” gains definitely no attraction to its surface; rather, only to its inside beauty. Such a rock, when broken open, it reveals beautiful crystals inside, such as quartz, amethyst, or agate. Miguel, the hero of Coco, has proven to be a great success at using love as a tool to decode hearts. His love towards music or the love he carries for his family has led eventually to refresh the memory of his old grandmother, restoring all the precious memories with her dad. Remember me is the song that gave birth to the miracle of the movie: Restoring the grandma’s memory. Designed with so much love & emotions, this song was the representation that love could rule in a world of prisoning frames. He never gave up on his family, even when their restrictions were like a stranglehold around his neck. He combined his love to music beside love to family and then came up with the cure. The cure to stop fear. “Family comes first” is absolutely undoubtable belief, but that never meant your dreams should come SECOND!

Eugene & Stealing Girls’ Hearts

We’re living in a world where every single value turned out to be a tool of consumption. Even beauty has become a product more than a value itself. Amid the rapid hunger of the girls to steal the hearts of handsome guys, one character has stood confident about the fact that he captured girls’ hearts with no doubt. Why Eugene is considered as the most attractive figure in Disney? Eugene is the name of the main character of the Disney movie Tangled. Superficially speaking, Eugene has been granted some attractive body features: muscled- body shape, strong jawline, tousled brown hair and a confident smirky smile was also incorporated into Eugene’s character design. Eugene was physically designed to be attractive. Is beauty enough to capture hearts? If it was enough, I wouldn’t have included the word “superficially” in the previous paragraph. We all agree that beauty never last long. Short-term attraction that emanates from the first impression never actually lead to life survival from the hardships it could throw on one’s way. Then why was Eugene special? We all remember this scene when Rapunzel first touched the grass as she finally released herself from the prisoning tower. In this moment, Rapunzel went through many upside-down psychological hits. While her experiencing of joy, fear, excitement, regret & shame, Eugene was patiently observing every mood swing of hers without any sort of judgment. I mean, who could ever be that patient? Eugene has been blessed with a funny, joyful attitude, so absolutely he would never forget to add some fun spices into solving his most-challenging problems that faced him and Rapunzel on their journey. Like this part when he let the girls do Rapunzel’s hair instead of people stepping on it. She was happy. The girls were happy. Congrats, the problem solved! How did his personality add more charm onto him? Eugene’s sarcasm makes him more appealing. His humorous attitude can make the most difficult situation seem escapable. He is protective & loving; even when he was wounded badly, he still cared for Rapunzel & helped her in his last seconds. He started off as a cocky thief but transformed into a selfless hero. Is Eugene a one-dimensional character? Unlike some earlier Disney princes who were more one-dimensional, Eugene undergoes significant character growth. His shift from a self-serving thief to a man willing to sacrifice everything for love makes him not just attractive, but deeply compelling. Eugene was portrayed as an ordinary man, yet a great one. He’s got the choices, yet he chose the path that would leave lasting impressions for sure: achieving one’s dream for whatever it costs. What I admired the most about Eugene’s character is that he is relatable, flawed but still he was appealing. In the world of screens, some concepts may appear totally unrealistic, and that what creates the gap between what we experience in real life & what we watch in the paralleled world of TikTok, Instagram & Facebook. Eugene was a live message: Imperfections do exist, but it never determines your whole life. He is the example of letting the kindness within you shine brightly whenever you got the chance. Now, what else do girls want?

When I discovered that Disney speaks my heart out!

Blog Post Write with us under your name! Linkedin X-twitter Instagram Facebook Who could dare deny the immense entertainment Disney has gifted us since childhood? Well, I even dare to say that UNTIL NOW, Disney continues to capture my heart. It hasn’t just been a fun tool for creating joyful family moments; its message extends far beyond moral lessons. We all remember Snow White—the princess with icy skin, cherry-red lips, and a nightingale voice that enchanted every creature in the forest. Her innocence and beauty left the dwarfs in awe of her presence. Among the stand-out characters in this film, there’s been this special persona which insisted to cause “Hatred impression” for mostly all people. Nice try, but that trick didn’t fool me. This character; though, gained my attention for a different reason: it mirrors the very stereotypes we encounter in our everyday lives. Why Grumpy should be called Mister? For now, the spotlight is on Grumpy. Mr. Grumpy is a well-rounded character who undergoes noticeable development throughout his experience with Snow White. They both represent two complete opposites standing face to face—like ice vs. fire or rock vs. glass. Mr. Grumpy had decided to ignore his all kinds of emotions due to the distrust he pours into this world. He has developed skeptic attitude towards everything, even those closest ones to his heart. Such a behaviour is resulted from his absolute & excessive care for others who apparently didn’t pay him back. He came to believe that this world does not grant a reward for kindness he once adopted but extreme pain. It is worth mentioning that such an attitude has been portrayed in my many films as in Maleficent & the Phantom of the Opera. It’s never easy to live that long with fake strength without allowing vulnerability to touch your psychological wall. Though this moment was captured beautifully with nothing more than a gentle kiss on his cheek. We all remember Snow White—the princess with icy skin, cherry-red lips, and a nightingale voice that enchanted every creature in the forest. This character; though, gained my attention for a different reason: it mirrors the very stereotypes we encounter in our everyday lives. Allow the “REAL” you to rise up! I was absolutely glad when Mr. Grumpy opened his heart to embrace and celebrate his vulnerability in the end—when he shed tears over the semi-dead Snow White. Disney has given us a red flag to stop wearing this exhausting mask and to embrace our autumn, when the fake leaves of strength fall. How much is Mr. Grumpy relatable to us? I bet you’ve felt that Mr. Grumpy has a part of you, as if he speaks for you loudly. How many of us have leaned toward this stupid defense mechanism just to “overcome” the inevitable loss of every dear one in our hearts? Mr. Grumpy was courageous in the end—he allowed his heart to feel out loud, without a single drop of shame or blame. Now, look at you! Isn’t it time to show some bravery and express your feelings as they are, without faking any? If you decide so, then hats off! Respect is appreciably granted to you, as we may now call you Mr. or Ms., just like Mr. Grumpy. Table of Contents
